A Married at First Sight UK bride has revealed why she was shaking on the series after viewers expressed concern.
On this season of the reality series, 29-year-old make-up artist Sionainn Carmichael from Glasgow was paired with 28-year-old bin man Ryan Livesey from Manchester.
Although their wedding nearly didn’t happen after she got cold feet about tying the knot, the pair appeared to have been forming a connection.
However, in recent episodes viewers started commenting about how Sionainn appeared to be shaking repeatedly and she’s now addressed the reason behind her jitters.
During a Q&A on Instagram, someone asked her: ‘Do you have jitters? You seem to shake a lot or am I imagining things?’
She replied: ‘I’m a shaky gal anyway but I had a horrible chest infection and was on my second course of steroids in a month after the honeymoon, so I was literally rattling.’
It came after one viewer said she had been ‘visibly and vocally shaking a lot of the time’ while another said she was ‘visibly shaking the whole time she was talking on the sofa last night’.
However, on the most recent episode of the series, the couple ended up leaving the experiment after having an explosive argument over… shoelaces.
Explaining their decision to leave when speaking to the other husbands, Ryan declared: ‘I’m leaving boys. We’ve had a proper argument.
‘I was trying to do my laces. I was trying to retie my laces, and it was getting on my nerves. So Sionainn was trying to help me. So, I said, “oh, just leave them, just leave ’em now”.
‘Then she said, “Oh, don’t speak to me like that” and just threw the trainers on the floor. So, I said, “What do you mean speak to me like that, I just said leave them”’
He continued: ‘She said to me she doesn’t feel comfortable in the relationship, and she doesn’t know if I’m here for a genuine reason.’
Meanwhile Sionainn burst into tears as she recounted what happened to the girls and detailed their ‘little fall out over shoelaces’.
‘He just spoke to me really, really poorly. And I said, “Ryan don’t speak to me like that. You’re not going to speak to me like s***”,’ she said.
‘And it just flipped. He decided to tell me that none of his feelings had ever been real. He’d been faking it all. It was all a holiday romance for him.’
Speaking to the cameras, Sionainn said that she ‘developed real feelings for Ryan’ but was shocked ‘when he told me all his feelings were fake and he didn’t mean anything that he said’.
‘I feel like I’d been hit in the chest with something. It was a horrible feeling. And I think now I’ve seen the real side to him. I don’t even think I’ve known the real Ryan ever.’
