Lawrence Taylor reuniting with Bill Belichick on Omaha’s ‘ManningCast’ Monday

The “ManningCast” on Monday night will give some old quarterbacks nightmarish flashbacks.

Lawrence Taylor will be joining his former defensive coordinator Bill Belichick with Peyton and Eli Manning on Omaha Productions’ ESPN2 simulcast of Giants vs. Steelers on Monday, The Post has learned.

The appearance will be during the first half, where Belichick is a regular fixture on the program throughout the season.

Belichick joined Ray Perkins’ Giants staff in 1980 as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach.

Bill Parcells became the team’s defensive coordinator in 1981, the same year Taylor was drafted.

With Parcells eventually getting promoted to head coach and Belichick to defensive coordinator, the trio combined to wreak havoc on opposing offenses en route to two Super Bowl championships (1985-86 and 1990-91 seasons) for Big Blue.

To this day, Belichick gushes about Taylor any time his name is brought up.

Last year, when asked about the comparisons between L.T. and Micah Parsons, Belichick shut that idea down and gave Taylor as high a compliment as he’s capable of.

“I think comparing players like that, it’s not really — I would just say, I wouldn’t put anybody ahead of Lawrence Taylor, period,” Belichick said.

“Now, maybe I’m prejudiced, but I mean, I saw that guy every day for over a decade and he tilted the field for a decade.

“So, until somebody does that — and there’s a lot of great players and I’m not taking anything away from anybody else, there’s a lot of great players that have been in this league, that are in this league.

“But personally, I’m not putting anybody ahead of Lawrence Taylor. Not yet.”
