Broncos receiver Josh Reynolds shot after leaving Denver-area strip club

Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was wounded in a shooting after leaving a strip club outside Denver last week.

Police responded to multiple 911 calls early last Friday morning related to the shooting, according to 9News in Denver.

Reynolds, 29, and two other men were reportedly followed while leaving the strip club and were shot at while riding inside a blue Ford Bronco.

Reynolds was reportedly shot twice — once in the back of his head and once in his left arm.

Another man was shot in the back, and a third victim was wounded by broken glass.

Police later located the vehicle and discovered that it had “numerous bullet defects in the back driver-side and front windshield,” according to 9News.

The incident occurred at Shotgun Willie’s in suburban Denver, the same strip club where Grizzlies star Ja Morant infamously brandished a firearm on a live stream while in a private room that he had papered wall-to-wall with cash.

According to court documents, Reynolds and the other victims said that there were no issues inside the strip club, but that several vehicles began following them from the club to the highway.

Denver police announced Wednesday that two suspects, Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza, were arrested in relation to the case.

Mendoza’s vehicle was reportedly seen on surveillance video as being directly behind the victims’.

Charlesworth reportedly told investigators he had been enlisted to “help” a friend who had a prior issue with the victims and asked to follow them.

Reynolds has 12 catches for 183 yards and a touchdown this season.

He did not play in last Thursday’s game against the Saints as he was placed on IR with a finger injury.

“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries,” the Broncos said in a statement on Thursday.

“Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”
