The Chase viewers have been sharing their concerns after a player appeared to have sustained injuries to his face.
Barney, from Henley-on-Thames, appeared on last night’s ITV show in the hopes of beating the Chasers to win the maximum prize of £100,000.
However, viewers on X became distracted from the game as they worried over what seemed like a cut on Barney’s nose and a split lip.
Among them was @AaronG1L3S who asked: ‘Has Barney had a scrap before filming? #thechase.’
@Mickey60738395 wrote: ‘Looks like Barney has had a right Barney with someone #thechase.’
Echoing their sentiment, @SenorApple2014 commented:’ F***ing hell, Barney! #TheChase.’
However, some social media users believed Barney bore a resemblance to a Hollywood actor, as @ItsOnlyRash said: ‘Barney reminds me of Andrew Garfield a bit #TheChase.
Others also remarked on Barney’s The Chase playing skills with @pavarottishighc writing: ‘Barney is on fire #TheChase.’
However, despite giving Chaser Paul Sinha, 54, a run for his money, Barney and his team ultimately lost and went home with nothing.
Last month, viewers of The Chase were left gobsmacked over the ‘dumbest question ever’ in the 15 years of the show.
Presenter Bradley Walsh asked: ‘Whose Twitter (X) handle is @kourtneykardashian?’
Looking somewhat perplexed at how obvious the answer was, the contestant Kelly responded: ‘Kourtney Kardashian.’
Viewers were also confused, with many sharing their thoughts on social media.
‘The Chase just had a question asking whose social media handle is Kourtney Kardashian like I genuinely think that is the dumbest question ever on that show,’ user gcsedenis posted on X.
‘That Kourtney Kardashian question was a tough one,’ _Ce_Ce__ joked.
The Chase began airing on ITV in 2009 and has produced 17 seasons, as well as celebrity charity spin-offs.
The quiz show sees contestants play against a professional quizzer – the Chaser- who attempts to prevent them from winning a cash prize.
