Grimes’ queerness went out the window after she became a mom.
“I became way less gay after I was pregnant, my ability to focus on reading and writing went way up, as did my general creativity, but my ability to focus on technical things went *way* down,” the singer, who shares three children with her ex Elon Musk, wrote on X Tuesday.
“Is this all explained by hormones?”
After a fan replied that Grimes’ feelings may have come from “being in a heterosexual relationship with a bigot,” the Canadian performer, 36, replied, “I feel like that shud [sic] make me more gay tho.”
Grimes — born Claire Boucher — and Musk, 53, share sons X Æ A-12, 4, and Techno Mechanicus, 2, as well as daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, 2.
The musician gave birth to their first child together, X, in May 2018, while their second child, Exa, who is nicknamed Y, was born via surrogate in December 2021.
In September 2023, a Musk biography revealed that the exes — who dated on and off from 2018 to 2022 — had welcomed their third baby, Techno aka Tau, in June 2022.
Not much is known about Techno, as his mom previously said she wanted to keep her kids “out of the public eye.” It is unclear whether she birthed him or used a surrogate again.
Grimes and the dad of 12 have been in a contentious custody battle over their children since their split.
Last September, the “Oblivion” singer pleaded with Musk to let her see their son in a now-deleted tweet.
That same month, Grimes filed a “petition to establish parental relationship” with the Tesla co-founder.
But three days before she filed, Musk filed a petition in Texas to become the legal parent of their two sons and daughter.
A lawyer told Page Six exclusively that the X owner filed his petition in the Lone Star State to “get a better deal on child support than he would get in California.”
Despite the custody battle, Musk has been taking his son X with him around the world.
The billionaire and X attended the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas in February and traveled to Germany to visit the Tesla Gigafactory in March.
