YouTube rapper Yung Filly could be stuck in Australia for two years as he awaits trial on eight charges, including four rape accusations.
The 29-year-old internet personality, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested earlier this month in Brisbane and then extradited to Perth.
He has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in his Perth hotel room on September 28 after a performance at nightclub Bar120 in Hillarys the day before.
Charges include four counts of rape, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
Initially, Barrientos was told he may be waiting two months before going to trial after he met bail but now that has been extended to a possible two years.
‘He realises he is here until his trial. He gets that,’ said Yung Filly’s lawyer, Perth barrister Seamus Rafferty SC, according to the Daily Mail.
It was previously reported that Barrientos, who appeared on The Great Celebrity Bake-Off, would have to remain in Perth until December 19 for a court appearance.
It has also been reported that strict conditions of his bail include that he is banned from contacting the alleged victim and is prohibited from posting on social media about the case to his 3.2 million followers.
According to documents from Perth Magistrates Court, seen by the Daily Mail, the alleged victim was with a friend at the rapper’s VIP party.
It is believed the rapper has secured accommodation in Perth for at least the next six months but has been banned from attending nightclubs or hotels under bail restrictions.
Barrientos has also been ordered to report to police daily, hand over his passport, and post a personal $100,000 (£51,438.05) cash surety which must be guaranteed by a second $100,000 surety from a third party who is a WA resident.
Since the arrest, various companies have severed ties with Barrientos, including Footasylum who he worked with regularly on YouTube.
Footasylum said: ‘In light of these extremely serious charges, we are suspending our contract with Yung Filly with immediate effect.
‘We are unable to comment further until the legal process has been concluded.’
