The first Toronto Raptors superstar will be joining Sportsnet as a broadcaster for select games.
Vince Carter won’t just be around this season for his upcoming jersey retirement ceremony.
The first Toronto Raptors superstar will be joining Sportsnet as a broadcaster for select games, starting with Wednesday’s season opener at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sportsnet announced the news on Tuesday morning.
“My NBA roots started with the Raptors and the relationships I forged with former teammates like Alvin Williams. It is humbling to have the opportunity to come back,” Carter said in a release. “I am truly looking forward to being a part of the broadcasts.”
Carter is Toronto’s all-time points per game leader and was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this month.
Williams, who hit the clutch shot that won the Raptors and Carter their first-ever playoff series victory (against the New York Knicks in 2001), previously joined Sportsnet broadcasts as an analyst alongside play-by-play man Matt Devlin in 2021-22.
