After Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz appeared on “The View” and “The Daily Show” on Monday, he headed to West Village hotspot Arthur & Sons for dinner.
The politico was joined by his daughter, Hope, as well as up to 25 Secret Service agents inside and outside the eatery, we hear.
A spy told Page Six that, “Walz and his daughter arrived at 8:00p.m.,” and were at the 8th Avenue resto for about 90 minutes.
Said the saucy source: “The streets outside the restaurant were lined with people snapping photos, with Secret Service [black SUVs] as far as the eye could see.”
“Walz and daughter were accompanied by Secret Service — at least 20 to 25, with many stationed in the restaurant, but also outside,” said our spy.
The hip red sauce haunt is popular with media types including Chris Cuomo and Rosanna Scotto, while Jennifer Lopez and Bethenny Frankel have been seen at the eatery’s Hamptons location.
We reported that the team from uptown meatball mecca, Rao’s, has also made a pilgrimage to chef Joe Isidori’s restaurant.
Walz had spicy rigatoni and chicken Parm, plus cannoli and “Spumoni My Way” for dessert.
Said a spy: “Throughout the meal many people approached the table to say hello and show their support — and Walz and his daughter were extremely warm and friendly. They could not have been more gracious. Many people took photos with Walz.
Earlier on “The View,” Walz was grilled by co-host and former Donald Trump staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin.
On “The Daily Show,” host Jon Stewart gave the pol some more lighthearted questions, including asking Walz why the New York Giants are having a rough season.
The Minnesota governor quipped, “They should have kept Saquon,” referring to former running back Saquon Barkley, who decamped for the Eagles. “Pay the money,” he added.
