Tesco is officially kicking off the festive season with the launch of its 2024 Christmas meal deal range — and four fan favourites are returning to its aisles.
From today, shoppers can get their hands on a variety of seasonal treats, including eight new mains and sides.
Whether you’re craving a traditional turkey sandwich or seeking a veggie treat with a holiday twist, Tesco’s new festive lineup has you covered, with a main, snack and drink priced at £3.60 for Clubcard members or £4 for those without.
Among the new additions are an array of wraps and sandwiches, including the Christmas Cracking Currywurst Sub, which is described as ‘hearty nod to German Christmas markets’. Expect juicy pork sausage, smoky caramelised onions and tangy curry ketchup, all wrapped up in an egg-glazed roll.
Next up is the new Ho-Ho-Hog Wrap, which comes with low-cooked pulled pork seasoned with fennel and garlic, paired with rosemary gravy mayo and a crunchy apple slaw.
Veggie’s can also look forward to a new lunchtime option: the Plant Chef Christmas Veg Fest Wrap. Inspired by festive leftovers, it combines roasted carrots, parsnips, and spiced red cabbage, wrapped inside a spinach tortilla and topped with savoury vegan gravy.
Meanwhile, returning to the Tesco meal deal menu is the Turkey & Trimmings Sandwich, which the supermarket claims is ‘ultimate festive sarnie’, packed with turkey breast, sausage, sage and onion stuffing, beechwood smoked bacon, mayo and cranberry sauce on malted bread – the perfect next day pick-me-up after one too many party season drinks.
Tesco’s Gluten Free Festive Chicken & Trimmings will also return to shelves, with chicken breast, pork, sage and onion stuffing mayo, and cranberry sauce, all sandwiched between two slices of seeded gluten-free bread.
And for Clubcard members looking to upgrade their festive meal deal even further, there are three new seasonal additions to the Premium meal deal.
For £5, shoppers can pick up an extra-swanky main with a side and drink from the wider meal deal range.
Joining this Premium range is the Chicken & Bacon Wrap with Gravy Mayonnaise Dip, which offers a ‘twist on the traditional Christmas dinner’.
The wrap contains chargrilled chicken breast, maple-cured bacon, and tangy cranberry chilli chutney wrapped in a tortilla. On the side is a rich sage and black pepper gravy mayonnaise for dipping.
Next up is the Festive Chicken, Bacon & Stuffing Mayo Baguette, which has been hailed as the ‘ultimate Christmas feast packed into a baguette’ thanks to its blend of seasoned chicken breast, beechwood smoked bacon, sage and onion stuffing mayo and cranberry sauce.
Finally, there’s the Tesco Finest Turkey BLT includes pastrami-style turkey, maple-cured bacon, Emmental cheese and tangy gherkin mayo on rye and caraway bread.
On the snack front, Tesco has launched two new treats – including the Mini Christmas Bangers and Gravy Mayo Dip: cocktail sausages made with pork, apple, and cranberry, served with a rich sage and black pepper mayo dip on the side.
The supermarket has introduced Christmassy Chicken Bites with Festive Cranberry Dip, which features tender chicken bites seasoned with stuffing.
And after proving a hit last year, two popular products are back on shelves for the season – Mini Pork Pies and Pig in Blanket Sausage Rolls.
The pair of mini pork pies includes seasoned cured pork, sweetened dried cranberries and cranberry sauce, wrapped in a crisp hot water crust pastry, whilethe Pig in Blanket Rolls feature pork sausage meat wrapped in smoked bacon and encased in flaky puff pastry and sage and onion seasoning.
It comes after the supermarket announced its new collaboration with Asian-inspired fast food brand, Itsu.
From today, meal deal fanatics will be able to select the Itsu dragon roll sushi range as part of the £5 Tesco Premium meal deal offer.
Each sushi packet is accompanied by a mayo sachet, sweet soy sauce and a mini pot with crunchy tempura pieces.
