Multiple people were found shot dead in a “tragic scene” at a home in a tiny town in Washington state early Monday, authorities said.
Cops made the grim discovery after responding to multiple 911 calls of a shooting at the house in Fall City on the outskirts of Seattle just before 5 a.m., King5 reported.
Authorities haven’t yet said how many bodies were found at the property or if anyone else was injured.
King County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Mellis only said authorities encountered a “tragic scene” and that they are probing multiple homicides.
He added that the murders were possibly tied to a domestic violence incident and that there was no ongoing threat to the community.
“I can say that it’s going to be really a tragic event for the community, for anybody who has any connection out here,” he said. “It’s going to affect a lot of people.”
It wasn’t immediately clear if a suspect had been taken into custody.
The investigation, which the sheriff’s office described as “massive,” was still ongoing, and other agencies had been called in to help.
“That implies that this is a significant scene that is going to take a lot of expertise, a lot of time,” Mellis said.
Fall City, about 30 miles outside Seattle, is a riverside town with a population of roughly 2,000.
