One of the victims, a 42-year-old man, was hospitalized in critical condition.
Two men were injured Saturday evening during an armed assault in an apartment block in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.
According to the Montreal police, emergency services were dispatched to an apartment block on Place de Darlington around 6:30 p.m.
Once on the scene, paramedics found two men who had been stabbed in the upper body. They were rushed to hospital.
The first victim, a 37-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The second, a 42-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
Police say an altercation escalated between the two victims and a third individual in the apartment block’s hallway. It’s believed the third individual stabbed them during the altercation.
The suspect then left, only to later return to the scene of the assault, where he was arrested. The 35-year-old man was taken to a police station, where he is to be interviewed by investigators.
A security perimeter was set up inside the apartment block. Investigators and a forensic technician were also dispatched to analyze the scene.
