Liam Payne’s dad, Geoff Payne, rushed down to Argentina following the tragic death of his son earlier this week.
Geoff, 66, was seen exiting his hotel in Buenos Aires on Friday, according to photos obtained by TMZ.
The grieving father, who appeared downcast while communicating with hotel staffers, was reportedly en route to the Buenos Aires Judicial Office.
He wore a blue suit and a black T-shirt paired with black shoes for the gloomy outing.
Geoff, who shares Liam with his wife Karen Payne, mourned the loss of the former One Direction singer in a joint statement with his family on Thursday.
“Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul,” Liam’s loved ones told BBC one day after his passing.
“We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time,” the statement continued.
Geoff traveled from the UK and arrived in Buenos Aires just two days after the former One Direction singer fell to his death from a third-story balcony at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. He was 31.
First responders rushed to the scene but were unable to resuscitate the pop star due to his extreme injuries from the fall.
Liam sustained multiple traumas that led to internal and external bleeding, the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office told Page Six of its preliminary autopsy report Thursday.
“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” emergency medical doctor Alberto Crescenti said, per the US Sun.
“Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death,” the medical professional added.
Just moments before his untimely death, eyewitnesses claimed that Liam was showing “disturbing” behavior in the hotel lobby, and at one point even allegedly smashed his laptop.
Authorities discovered alcohol and controlled substances littering Liam’s hotel suite, which had been completely trashed.
Earlier this week, a source claimed that the former boy band member had been dropped by his record label, Universal Music, just days before his heartbreaking passing.
His ex-bandmates — Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik — paid tribute to Liam in a touching tribute.
“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing,” the band wrote in a statement Thursday.
“In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.”
“The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever,” they continued. “For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you, Liam.”
The band was formed in 2010 and immediately skyrocketed in popularity.
Liam admitted to struggling with addiction and mental health issues during his time in the band — which was cut short when the group broke up in 2016.
