We love a good bargain, and when in search of one many of us will head to the likes of Poundland, B&M, or Home Bargains.
They’re one-stop shops for just about everything you could possibly need, as well as things you never even knew you needed, and all for incredibly low prices.
But it turns out there’s another discount shop on the high street that’s starting to give brands like Poundland a run for their money.
Despite having been in the UK since 2019, many people still haven’t discovered OneBeyond, but as the ‘newest and fastest growing value retailer’ in the country, it’s worth getting on your radar.
The business, which was founded by the former founders of Poundworld, has been popping up all over the place of late, with current locations including Aylesbury, Coventry, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, King’s Lynn, Reading, Shepherds Bush, Southampton, and Wisbech.
There are 120 stores nationwide, and the retailer has more than 6,000 product lines in stock, with prices starting from as little as £1.
So what exactly do they sell? Inside OneBeyond you’ll find homeware, kitchenware, and stationery, as well as branded food, drink, cleaning products, toys, and more.
And those who love seasonal items will also be in for a treat as there are plenty of festive goodies. Halloween decorations and Trick or Treat buckets are priced at £1 each in-store, with costumes from as little as £4.99 each, and spooky tumblers with straws for £2.99.
And when it comes to Christmas time, you can get LED string lights for £3.99, as well as candy canes for £1, and Christmas snowflake window stickers for £1.
Other products include everyday items like Coca-Cola (£1.25), Pringles (£1), Hairbo sweets (£1.25), Astonish Mould and Mildew Blaster (£1.39), Huggies Baby Wipes (£1), Johnson’s Cotton Buds (£1.25).
You can also get a sunset lamp for £4.99, Squishmallows (£6.99), and cutlery sets from just £2.99.
Online the store has started to gain a strong following, with 43,000 followers on Facebook, with customers praising the retailer.
In response to one recent Facebook post about Hot Wheels cars, Paige Mantle was so impressed with the £1.50 prices, she claimed there would be ‘no more going to Poundland’.
Similarly Colin Hatch said: ‘Fab store. One step above £land.’
Others were exciting by the Christmas range, as Helena Wilson posted: ‘I have seen your Christmas range and need to come in and get some bits for stocking fillers.’
If this isn’t for you, there’s always Miniso, a chain from China which is said to be giving Primark a run for its money.
Stocking everything from lamps to kitchen accessories and storage solutions, the brand has more than 6,000 stores worldwide across 100 countries.
In the UK alone, there are already 26 stores, including one on London’s Oxford Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, and Camden, as well as locations in Brighton, Basingstoke, Cambridge, Manchester and Leeds.
