Asda just added 480 ‘affordable’ new items as part of supermarket’s ‘biggest launch ever’

When grocery shopping online, many people will just order their food essentials for the week, stocking up on milk, bread, and ingredients for dinner.

But customers shopping online at Asda can now also add a few extras into their order, thanks to an exciting partnership between the supermarket and a popular sportswear brand.

Online at George.com, Asda is now stocking more than 480 items from Decathlon, including clothing, shoes, and sports accessories. 

Expect to find exercise outfits, yoga mats, footballs, amd dumbbells, as well as badminton rackets, swimming costumes, water bottles, training bands, and more.

The move is said to be Asda’s ‘biggest product launch’ to date on its ecommerce platform and comes off the back of the retailer’s existing partnership with the sports brand.

Asda already has 22 Decathlon concessions in its supermarkets nationwide, and shoppers online have praised the brand for being ‘affordable’ and offering ‘everyday wear’.

On X @dborahleey said: ‘Love Decathlon. It’s my go-to store for quality, affordable everyday wear.’ While @art_vandelay8 thought: ‘Decathlon is the GOAT in sportswear. Affordable and they have variety. Want something expensive? They have it. Want something cheap? They have that as well.’

And there are plans for George.com to keep on growing, with more third party ranges coming to the site in 2025.

Michael Rowles, Senior Director – Online Trading at George.com, said: ‘The expansion of our product ranges online is a key focus for us, so to be able to bring products from a trusted retailer like Decathlon marks a significant milestone for us.

‘We’re delighted to be able to bring hundreds of new Decathlon products to our website for customers to shop. We look forward to sharing more exciting plans to bring products from more of our partners to our website, as we head into next year.’

There have been several other exciting announcements from Asda of late, with the retailer also recently launching a collection with a luxury womenswear designer that the Princess of Wales loves.

The brand is Roksanda, which was founded by Serbian designer Roksanda Illinic, and the new Asda range includes 30 pieces including sweats, fleeces, and puffer jackets.

Kate Middleton has worn has worn several pieces by Roksanda at big name events, including courtside at Wimbledon, and during the royal tour of the Carribbean.

Asda also recently caused a stir after re-launching a very popular Diet Coke product.

As part of the supermarket’s Tickled Pink Campaign, in aid of Awareness Month, shoppers can now buy Insta-worthy pink cans of their favourite fizzy drink.

The cans come in multipacks of 30, and although the outside is pink – it’s still the same classic flavour inside.

Diet Coke isn’t the only brand to turn pink. Asda’s shelves are currently stocked full of pink packaging, with over 200 brands participating. 

Heinz Baked Beans, Walkers Crisps, Aero Strawberry Melts, Marmite, Shreddies cereal, Hellman’s Mayonnaise, and Jamie Dodgers are among some of the pink products shoppers can expect to find. 

Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign has been running for 28 years and has raised a phenomenal £92million for breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! in this time.
