A would-be robber bashed a 24-year-old man in the head with a glass bottle when he refused to fork over cash in a broad-daylight Brooklyn attack this week, cops said.
The stranger approached the victim down the block from his home on Ditmas Avenue near East 2nd Street in Kensington around 9 a.m. Monday and asked him for money, authorities and sources said.
When the victim didn’t cough up any dough, the suspect turned violent — clobbering him in the head with the bottle, cops said.
The blow left the victim with a cut on his head, and he was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The mugger, seen pacing around on the sidewalk in surveillance footage, fled empty-handed and had not been caught by Tuesday.
Anyone with information on the assailant is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
