‘OTH’ star Bethany Joy Lenz confirms fallout with co-star Hilarie Burton over ‘bizarre misunderstandings’

Bethany Joy Lenz confirmed she has tension with her former “One Tree Hill” co-star Hilarie Burton, but said she has no hard feelings on her part.

“I love Hilarie, I have always and will always, and I don’t have any problem with her,” the actress, 43, said on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast Wednesday before admitting, “There have been some bizarre misunderstandings that I really hope we can figure out one day, but I love that girl.”

Page Six has reached out to Burton’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Lenz did not go into detail about what sparked the feud, but host Alex Cooper pointed out that fans speculated there had been a rift since the former co-stars no longer follow each other on social media.

The internet sleuths took notice after Lenz announced she was releasing her a memoir, “Dinner for Vampires,” in late February, and Burton posted shortly after a meme via her Instagram Story that read, “I don’t think imitation is the highest form of flattery, I think it’s annoying.”

The former “Total Request Live” co-host, 42, has her own book out called, “Grimoire Girl,” whose cover is similar to that of Lenz’s because it features a photo of the author in a gold circular center.

In March, Burton was then noticeably absent from a promo video that Lenz shot with her other fellow “One Tree Hill” alum Sophia Bush for the launch of the trio’s “Drama Queens” podcast YouTube channel.

“ok but where’s hillary [sic] lol,” one person commented at the time, while another added in the comments section, “YAYYYYY 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 but where’s Hilarie..?!?!!! 🤔”

Neither Burton or Lenz have addressed the rumored drama — even though they both have not been shy to blast former colleagues for their bad behavior in the past.

In 2017, Burton and Lenz, along with Bush, accused their former showrunner of sexual harassment.

“Many of us were put in uncomfortable positions and had to swiftly learn to fight back, sometimes physically, because it was made clear to us that the supervisors in the room were not the protectors they were supposed to be,” the ex-co-stars claimed in a joint statement to Variety at the time.

“Many of us were spoken to in ways that ran the spectrum from deeply upsetting, to traumatizing, to downright illegal. And a few of us were put in positions where we felt physically unsafe. More than one woman on our show had her career trajectory threatened.”
