It’s just big little lies.
Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek’s awkward Paris Fashion Week moment has been explained after their tense interaction went viral.
“Nothing happened,” an eyewitness told People Monday. “They were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation.”
“People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing.”
A source close to the actresses also told the outlet that the “whole situation is silly.”
“Salma and Nicole love and respect each other,” they added.
Over the weekend, a video of Kidman and Hayek at the Balenciaga fashion show on Sept. 30 went viral.
In the clip, the “Perfect Couple” actress appears to push Hayek’s hand away while posing for photos with Katy Perry.
The mom of four, 57, then turns away from Hayek, 58, and hugs the “Hot N Cold” singer before exchanging words with the “Desperado” actress.
Following the video taking over the internet, a lip reader exclusively told Page Six that Hayek was seemingly directing Kidman on where to turn for the photo.
Per Jeremy Freeman, a UK-based forensic lip reader, the “Big Little Lies” star tried to put a stop to the pap frenzy, telling Hayek, “Hey, I’m fine, I’m good. There, it’s enough, it’s OK.”
After Hayek interjected and seemignly said they “have to,” Kidman simply walked away from the shoot.
Hayek, per Freeman, then said, “That’s fine, that’s fine,” and posed with Perry instead.
The day after the fashion show, Hayek shared a photo with Kidman on Instagram.
“Finally last night the grand finale of my Paris Fashion Week 2025. 👏 Balenciaga and Demna for a terrific show,” she captioned the post.
The Balenciaga show was the first appearance Nicole made since her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, had passed away. She was 84 years old.
