For Diet Coke girlies, those red and silver cans are pretty iconic.
Over the years, we’ve seen Whitney Houston, Matt Damon and Kate Moss all taking a sip, and Jamie Dornan was recently announced as the new face of the brand.
But now, the cans are getting a makeover, as they’ve gone pink, for Asda’s Tickled Pink Campaign, in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Insta-worthy rosy cans have been a hit, with shoppers running to Asda to get their hands on the limited edition packaging.
One customer shared a video of herself buying a multipack on her TikTok account, @milliegrims. She told her followers: ‘Oh my god, girls, run to Asda.
‘Obsessed – and for such an amazing cause.’
Millie’s video quickly went viral, garnering 2million views and a wave of excited comments. One user, @fl0o_13, wrote: ‘I’m a Pepsi girl, but this is too cute.’
Another commenter, @taneka.x, wrote: ‘I need this in my life,’ while ‘Ashe’, wrote: ‘I love cutesy Asda tickled pink products, and money goes to charity. What a brilliant win/win.’
TikToker @elselifediariess, who also posted a video of herself buying the multipack, said: ‘These pink diet cokes are so cute.’ One commenter wrote: ‘I’m in love,’ while others said: ‘Need these.’
The cans come in multipacks of 30, and although the outside is pink – it’s still the same classic flavour inside.
Diet Coke isn’t the only brand to turn pink. Asda’s shelves are currently stocked full of pink packaging, with over 200 brands participating.
Heinz Baked Beans, Walkers Crisps, Aero Strawberry Melts, Marmite, Shreddies cereal, Hellman’s Mayonnaise, and Jamie Dodgers are among some of the pink products shoppers can expect to find.
Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign has been running for 28 years and has raised a phenomenal £92million for breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! in this time.
The brands will be showing support for the campaign by donating a portion of their sales to breast cancer charities.
Some of the items will include vital breast awareness information on their packaging to highlight the importance of regularly checking your boobs, pecs and chests, Asda says.
Asda rewards customers who purchase four products from the Tickled Pink range will receive £1 back in their cash pot.
Kris Comerford, Asda’s chief merchandising officer, said: ‘We are proud to have so many of our suppliers supporting this year’s Tickled Pink campaign and turning their iconic brands pink.
‘It’s set to be one of our biggest ever years, with over 200 products available both in stores and online, giving customers the opportunity to donate by purchasing everyday household and clothing items.
‘For the second year running, Asda rewards customers who purchase four products from the Tickled Pink range will also receive £1 back in their cash pot.’
Rachael Franklin, director of fundraising, communications and engagement at Breast Cancer Now, said: ‘It’s incredible to see so many amazing brands turning pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, helping us to raise vital awareness and funds for breast cancer treatments, vital education and life-changing support.
‘This year marks the 28th year of our Asda Tickled Pink partnership with over £92 million raised – which is a fantastic achievement and enables us to make a huge difference for the 55,000 women and 400 men diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.’
