Davante Adams makes surprise ‘Pat McAfee Show’ appearance as Aaron Rodgers reacts to bombshell Jets trade

Aaron Rogers can’t wait to be back on the field with Davante Adams as his teammate again.

During his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday, the Jets quarterback was all smiles while discussing Gang Green’s blockbuster trade for the star wide receiver Tuesday.

“Obviously really excited,” Rodgers said. “Davante is a phenomenal player and a dear friend.”

Rodgers said he was “pissed” on the drive home and later saw a call and text from Adams, and he reached back out and found out about the deal after midnight.

Adams then jumped into Rodgers’ shot, with the two reunited on the show.

“We’re back man,” Adams said. “Should be able to pick up where we left off, that’s the idea.”

Rodgers and Adams, who requested a trade out of Las Vegas earlier this month, were a dynamic duo across eight seasons together in Green Bay.

The quarterback reacted to the Adams trade shortly after The Post’s Brian Costello confirmed it Tuesday.

The Raiders will receive a conditional third-round draft pick that could improve to a second-round selection.

The Jets are taking on the remainder of Adams’ contract.

Adams is set to earn $12.1 million in salary over the rest of this season — and he has base salaries of $35.6 million across the next two years, but that amount is not guaranteed.

Jets owner Woody Johnson explained he was encouraged to trade for Adams after a crushing 23-20 home loss to the Bills on Monday night.

However, CBS reported the trade was in place before Monday’s loss.

“Staus quo is killer. You have to go with your instinct and build a culture,” Johnson said while at the league meeting in Atlanta on Tuesday, adding that he’s excited about the move. “He’ll open everything up.”

“In my position, I have to make the decisions that are best for the team … I am doing absolutely everything I can to win.”

Adams reportedly took a red-eye flight to New Jersey, and has been in the Jets building since Tuesday morning.

The trade is pending a physical, with Adams missing the Raiders’ last three games with a hamstring injury.

The transaction came a week after the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh following a 2-3 start, and named defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich as the interim head coach.

Saleh’s firing marked Johnson’s first in-season coaching change in 25 years of ownership.

Johnson is confident Adams can help turn around the Jets’ season.
