The two victims were a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s.
ULVERTON — Two people died Saturday following a car accident on Highway 55 in Ulverton, in Estrie.
“Around 5:45 a.m., emergency services were called to a head-on collision involving two vehicles at kilometre 96,” said Élizabeth Marquis-Guy, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
The two victims, a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s, were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The circumstances of the collision are still unclear. According to the SQ, “a vehicle heading south collided with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.”
An investigator and collision reconstructionists from the SQ are on site to determine the causes and circumstances of the event.
