‘I spent $1500 on the flight and so did my husband,’ Oscar winner tweeted after suffering through a six-hour flight with a broken entertainment system
Jessica Chastain had a social media post backfire on her this week after she tried to publicly shame JetBlue because their inflight entertainment was down during a recent flight.
“Thank you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. My flight was $1,500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you,” Chastain shared with her nearly one million followers on X, posting screenshots of the company’s travel credit offer. “Strange that I paid that for your flight entertainment system that didn’t work for the duration of my 6hr flight, but I guess it was worth it for this $15 credit.”
Chastain then shared a direct message with someone on JetBlue’s customer service team who told her everyone on her flight got a $15 credit.
“I understand but I spent $1500 on the flight and so did my husband,” she replied. “There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer.”
“I understand,” the representative replied. “The $15 you received is flight credit. I am sorry. There is not more I can do.”
As Chastain’s rant went viral, people following the drama on X poked fun at her for arguing about the inconvenience.
“Jessica Chastain beefing with an airline publicly on twitter shows that no matter how much money you have you’ll never stop being a millennial,” one person commented.
But the besieged star of The Help had a couple of people defending her for calling out the airline.
“So many of you would tweet exactly like Jessica Chastain if you were her level of famous. I know that in my soul,” a third wrote.
