Two-year-old in critical condition after being found unconscious in Île-Bizard pool

Medical authorities say the boy’s life is in danger.

A two-year-old boy remained in critical condition Wednesday morning after being found unconscious Tuesday evening in a pool at a residence in the borough of Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève in Montréal.

Montreal police said they were informed of the incident by a 911 call at about 6 p.m. reporting an accident at a pool at residence on Place des Cageux near Bord-du-Lac Rd.

Officers arriving at the scene found the child had been pulled from the pool by firefighters and rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Medical authorities said the child’s life remained in danger Wednesday morning.

A perimeter has been set up at the scene to allow investigators to examine the scene and determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.
