Someone told Troy Aikman that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift ‘might actually be engaged’

Troy Aikman thinks he might have stumbled upon a massive scoop.

On ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” game between the Chiefs and Saints, Aikman referred to Taylor Swift as Kelce’s wife when the Kansas City tight end made a catch in the second quarter.

“The missus likes it,” Aikman said, before his broadcast partner Joe Buck informed him the two are not married.

The former Cowboys quarterback appeared on Barstool’s “Pardon My Take” podcast, where co-host PFT Commenter credited Aikman and Buck with having a big-game aura — with one caveat.

“Unless you make a minor mistake on the air and you accidentally say that Taylor Swift is married to Travis Kelce,” PFT Commenter said wryly.

“Was that a big deal?” Aikman laughed. “Was I on a tight rope right there? This morning, I woke up and saw a headline like, ‘Aikman knew he was in trouble’ or something and I was like, ‘Gosh, if this is newsworthy … Really?”

Responding to a joke that he might have just cursed the Chiefs by saying Kelce and Swift are engaged, Aikman said, “I don’t know if I cursed them or not, but somebody actually reached out to me today and said that they might actually be engaged — so, I might’ve broke the story.”

It had raised some eyebrows that Swift had missed the Chiefs’ two games before Monday night after attending the team’s first two games of the season.

However, her appearance on Monday night coincided with Kelce’s best game of the season, as he caught nine balls for 70 yards and the Chiefs won, 26-13.

The two-time defending-champion Chiefs are now 5-0 headed into their bye week.

On his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason, Travis played coy about what his and Swift’s plans for the bye week entail.

“Of course I do,” Travis said after Jason inquired if he had plans for the week off.

“Are you gonna tell anybody?” Jason followed up.

“No, but if any of it comes out I’m sure we’ll be talking about it on the show,” Travis responded.
