Longueuil woman charged after boy is scalded with boiling water

The boy, 10, was hospitalized but has been released, Longueuil police say.

A woman in her 40s was arrested in Longueuil Oct. 2 after allegedly throwing boiling water on a 10-year-old boy. 

The boy was hospitalized for his injuries but has been released, Longueuil police say. The boy and his family have been referred to the Centre d’aide aux victimes d’actes criminels, a police spokesperson said. 

Police are not naming the boy, the woman or the boy’s school in the interest of protecting his identity. 

The woman has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and aggression. She will appear in court Jan. 26. 

She was released from police custody with orders to appear in court and not to contact the boy’s family.
