Kamala Harris mocked over yet another ‘accent’ during Stephen Colbert ‘Late Show’ appearance

Vice President Kamala Harris faced fresh mockery Wednesday after she was accused of dropping yet another “fake accent” during her late-night appearance with CBS host Stephen Colbert.

Harris, 59, was ripped on social media for unveiling what critics claimed was a Jamaican patois during the Tuesday sit-down with “The Late Show” host, in which the veep railed against former President Donald Trump.

The bizarre moment came when the Democratic nominee was speaking about Trump’s recent criticism of the federal response to Hurricane Helene and accusations FEMA had mismanaged the crisis.

“Have you no empathy, man? You know? For the, the suffering of other people. Have you no sense of purpose?” Harris said as she accused Trump of playing “political games.”

Some on social media accused Harris of briefly adopting the island drawl as she uttered the words “you know.”

“JUST IN: Kamala Harris unveils a *new* Jamaican accent as she discusses the importance of empathy,” conservative commentator Collin Rugg posted on X.

“Wake up babe, new Kamala Harris accent just dropped,” fellow GOP commentator Savanah Hernandez added.

“Holy smokes Kamala just whipped out a Jamaican accent on Stephen Colbert,” another user, Johnny Maga, wrote.

“I know Kamala is an expert at code switching,” tweeted Outkick writer Ian Miller, “but is Stephen Colbert Jamaican and nobody told us?”

Others likened Harris’ twang to that of Bob Marley.

“Obsessed with Jamaican Kamala,” one user tweeted alongside a meme of the veep donning Marley’s signature beanie.

The late-night appearance — during which Harris also cracked open a can of Miller High Life and took a sip — is the latest instance where the VP has raised eyebrows for appearing to shift her accent.

Last month alone, Harris was ridiculed for apparently adopting a fake tone at two separate events.

She was accused of deploying a Southern accent in her remarks to teacher union members in Michigan on Sept. 2.

Then, on Sept. 14, Harris was ripped for appearing to shift her accent during an address to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Critics have repeatedly accused Harris of pandering on the campaign trail by shifting her accent when speaking with different constituencies — especially at events with a mostly black audience.
