Drake Maye’s girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson, is thrilled over the Patriots’ rookie quarterback being named the starter in New England.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Hudson reposted a snapshot of Maye after multiple reports indicated that he will replace Jacoby Brissett at quarterback — after a 1-4 start to the season — against the Texans on Sunday.
“YAY!!!!! So excited,” Hudson, 21 wrote, adding a smiling face emoji and a red heart emoji.
Maye and Hudson, who’s a senior year at UNC, where he played quarterback — have been dating since at least 2019.
She also attended the 2024 NFL Draft, which took place in Detroit from April 25-27, as well as a Patriots preseason game in August.
Patriots first-year head coach Jerod Mayo has yet to confirm the move.
The Patriots reportedly are turning to Maye, their No. 3 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, after Brissett failed to control the offense under new coordinator Alex Van Pelt.
In his lone appearance, Maye completed 4-of-8 passes for 22 yards and rushed two times for 12 yards in mop-up duty during a 24-3 loss to the Jets on Sept. 19.
Across five games, Brissett completed 58.5 percent of his passes for 696 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
