In a perfect storm of Democratic nonsense, White House chief flack Karine Jean-Pierre blew off factual info around Federal Emergency Management Agency spending and foreign aid that her own employers released as “misinformation” before stomping off in a huff.
What more proof does America need that labels of mis- and disinformation have nothing to do with whether any statement is true or false, but only whether it’s helpful or harmful to the political project of the left?
Fox News’ Peter Doocy posed Jean-Pierre (Joe Biden’s newest “senior adviser”) a simple question: Why does the Biden administration have close to $157 million ready to go for Lebanon aid but has to go hat in hand to Congress for extra funds for FEMA to deal with Hurricane Helene damage?
Remember, these are numbers and statements coming out of the administration itself.
Not speculation on X or anonymously sourced claims on Facebook.
Yet Jean-Pierre shot back: “More than $200 million that we have provided to the impacted areas, but instead, people want to do disinformation, misinformation, which is dangerous . . . Your whole premise of the question is misinformation, sir.”
Not even close.
It’s a reporter asking a completely justified question based on publicly available facts and figures that, again, come straight from the same administration KJP serves in.
What Karine Jean-Pierre plainly means by whining about misinformation is: This information makes Democrats looks bad, and therefore it’s somehow false.
Yes, it’s obscene to pull this stunt as Americans are quite literally dying.
In a perverse way, though, we can be grateful for this brutal honesty.
Since the disinformation-industrial complex spun up into high gear, the machinery of censorship and suppression has focused almost exclusively on facts that are bad for Democrats and opinions they disagree with.
Like the fact that Hunter Biden’s laptop is 100% real.
Or the opinion — now shared by the US government — that COVID likely leaked from a lab.
But almost never do the officials in charge of administering the speech-suppression apparatus openly admit its purpose.
We’re sure KJP slipped up when she pulled back the curtain, but we’re still glad she did.
Americans need to know who’s trying to con them in the name of “protecting” them — and why.
