Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, was ‘very flirty,’ hired ‘trophy secretary’ at law firm that was accused of sexism: report

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff is being accused of acting anything but gentlemanly during his time at a prestigious LA law firm, according to a new report.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband is accused of being “flirty” with women at his law office, retaliating against those who didn’t return his overtures and hiring a model as a “trophy secretary,” according to the Daily Mail and a lawsuit filed against the firm.

Employees of Emhoff, who ran Venable’s Los Angeles office from 2006 to 2017, claimed he would single out “young, pretty girls” at the firm and invite them to cruise around with him in a limo, according to the Mail — which did not name the employees.

The disgruntled ex staffers described Emhoff as an “a–hole” and “misogynist,” according to the Daily Mail.

An anonymous former staffer reportedly told the Mail Emhoff once boasted about shouting at a female partner at the firm to “get the f–k out of my office,” later telling several male colleagues he had “put her in her place.”

One female ex-staff member at the firm claimed that Emhoff’s alleged bad behavior was well known around the office, and that he had a reputation for being “very flirty” with female colleagues, according to the Daily Mail.

Katya, identifed by the Daily Mail as Katya Calderone, 36, was hired the same year Emhoff and Harris wed, according to the Mail. Linkedin

Those who didn’t respond positively then landed on his “s–t list” or were subject to retaliation, the outlet alleged.

“There were deadlines that, if you were one of his favorite people, wouldn’t apply. But if you weren’t, they would,” a female former staffer said.

An August 2019 lawsuit brought against the firm by a former legal secretary, Marjan Rabbi, detailed “a pattern of abusive conduct by male partners at Venable,” including one alleged incident in which a partner became enraged and chased her down to scream at her, even after she had dropped to her hands and knees in full panic attack.

The suit — which went into arbitration and was requested to be dismissed in November 2021 — claims Emhoff, who was not named as a defendant, hired an assistant named “Katya” who was allegedly widely considered unqualified but allegedly brought on board because she was “young, attractive and friendly with the powerful men in the office.”

Katya, identified by the Daily Mail as Katya Calderone, 36, was hired while Emhoff was married to Harris, according to the Mail.

The alleged motives behind her hiring were apparently so well known at the office that the name “Katya” became secret shorthand at the firm for good-looking but underqualified secretaries, the suit alleges.

One of Rabbi’s allegations in the suit is that firm partner Alex Weingarten, “a known office bully,” called her “useless” and compared her to a “child” in an effort to drive her away from working at his desk after “deciding he deserved a young, attractive secretary like his partner Douglas Emhoff had.”

Neither the Harris-Walz campaign nor Venable responded to The Post’s request for comment Tuesday.

Emhoff, 59, has faced multiple allegations about inappropriate behavior with women since his wife ascended to the 2024 Democratic nominee for president.

In August, he admitted to cheating on his first wife, Kerstin, with the family nanny, Najen Naylor, who taught at a private school attended by the couple’s two children.

Naylor became pregnant as a result of the affair, but did not keep the baby, a close friend with direct knowledge of the affair and pregnancy told Daily Mail.

Last week, Emhoff was accused of slapping his ex-girlfriend for flirting with a valet worker at a ritzy 2012 gala, which he later denied through a spokesperson.

Earlier, MSNBC anchor and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki drew sharp criticism when she praised Emhoff in a softball interview as having “reshaped the perception of masculinity.”
