Jets next coach odds: A favorite emerges to succeed Robert Saleh

DraftKings has posted odds on who will be the next head coach of the Jets, with Robert Saleh being shockingly forced to leave and join the unemployment line on Tuesday morning.

Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is the favorite to land the Jets’ head coaching gig, according to oddsmakers who are giving him +300 odds to make it.

This is notable because unlike hypothetical odds, these are actually eligible to be wagered on, legally, unlike offshore books which have nonsense options like Deion Sanders and Joe Namath to be the coach.

Johnson is considered the next great head coach as an offensive-minded coach and right-hand man for Coach of the Year candidate Dan Campbell.

Behind him is Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik (+400), while veteran star coach Mike Vrabel (+500) is a free agent and eligible to sign with the Jets at any time.

Vrabel has the same odds as current interim coach Jeff Ulbrich to hold onto the gig through the offseason.

Many had pinged ex-Patriots coach Bill Belichick to consider the job, but that is a mega long shot according to oddsmakers who say that he has a very slim chance of taking the job.

Belichick has a checkered history with the Jets after he left owner Woody Johnson at the alter in 2000 and resigned from the team.

Frank Reich, the Colts head coach who groomed Andrew Luck into a star is also available and considered a long shot, according to oddsmakers.
