Bill Belichick didn’t seem thrilled when ESPN cameras cut to Taylor Swift celebrating another catch by her boyfriend Travis Kelce during the Chiefs-Saints game on Monday.
The free-agent NFL coach, who’s been busy with numerous media gigs after parting ways with the Patriots in January, appeared on ESPN’s “ManningCast” with Eli Manning and Peyton Manning, and he let out an awkward sigh when cameras captured Swift cheering in Kelce’s family suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
Belichick didn’t say anything and just followed it up with an awkward pause while the former quarterbacks smiled and laughed.
The moment occurred with less than a minute before halftime and the Chiefs leading, 13-7.
Belichick was reacting to another catch by Kelce, who had a productive night in the absence of Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice — who’s been out after suffering a likely season-ending knee injury in a Week 4 win over the Chargers.
“Big first half for Kelce,” Belichick said. “Too big. Too big.”
Kelce finished with a game-high nine catches for 70 yards.
Belichick was jokingly displeased with Kelce’s big night after a slow start to the season, and it’s possible his sigh — a disappointing “ugh” sound — was aimed at the three-time Super Bowl champ.
The coach was seen sporting a Swift sweatshirt in a photo his girlfriend, 23-year-old Jordon Hudson shared on Instagram recently.
Belichick also reportedly attended one of Swift’s concerts in Amsterdam over the Fourth of July weekend.
The coach previously was complimentary of Swift, as she’s performed at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on numerous occasions.
The Chiefs, who improved to 5-0 on Monday, have a week off before they face the 49ers (2-3) in San Francisco on Oct. 20 in a Super Bowl rematch.
