Kathy Hilton briefly spoke about her sister Kim Richards after the latter was reportedly placed on a psychiatric hold amid a substance abuse relapse.
“We love her and we support her, and that’s all I can say,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum told People at the Rebecca Vallance x Nicky Hilton Holiday Collection Celebration event at her home on Saturday.
When asked whether Richards was doing better, the TV personality, 65, replied, “Yes, I think in the world there’s always hope.”
Hilton’s words of support come after Richards, 60, was reportedly placed on a 72-hour hold for acting “incoherent” in early September while at the Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the former child star was staying at the hotel when she started behaving erratically.
When she allegedly refused to leave the premises, she was placed on a temporary hold and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Kim then moved into a Los Angeles home owned by her younger sister, Kyle Richards.
Despite leaving shortly after, the actress returned to house which prompted neighbors to call the cops out of concern for her well-being.
Per TMZ, authorities were told that Kyle did not want her older sister there because she had been cut off in hopes that would get her to sober up.
Sources later told People that Kim was in “a really bad place” and her family didn’t know how to handle the situation.
“The family are very private about details, but from the little they’ve said, it’s clear they’ve reached another breaking point with her,” an insider said, adding, “This has happened before.”
The source shared that Kim’s struggle with alcohol abuse “has been an ongoing source of conflict” with her family — especially Kyle, who is sober.
“It particularly weighs heavily on Kyle, who has always been the worrier of the family,” the insider continued, explaining the “Halloween” star doesn’t know whether she’s “helping” or “enabling” Kim.
Kim starred on “RHOBH” from Season 1 to 5 alongside Kyle, who outed her alcohol addiction.
The Bravo alum, who was in rehab in 2011, was previously arrested after a drunken rampage at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2015.
