Celine Dion doused in Gatorade as she hypes up Steelers-Cowboys on SNF

Celine Dion surprised football fans when she appeared in an NFL promo ahead of the Sunday night game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys.

Titled It’s All Coming Back to Me Now after the singer’s beloved song of the same name, the segment opened in a recording studio and the sounds of a piano as the Canadian songstress talked about her connection to football.

“I think my favourite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are, to who we were,” Dion said. “To prove that our most powerful memories, our most enduring loves, can stay with us forever. You know what I’m talking about, right? Sometimes, some nights, it all just comes back.”

The clip then featured a montage of moments from past matchups between the Steelers and Cowboys set to the sounds of Dion’s 1996 hit.

“Their love affair, well maybe not love the way I usually sing about it. But still, you know, work with me here. I mean, ‘When you touch me like this, When you hold me like that’ … it kind of fits, no?” she said.

The rivalry, she continued, has been one of the NFL’s most enduring.

“But really, what beautiful passion it produced. What painful heartbreak it revealed. So, so long ago,” the singer continued.

As throwback clips gave way to current personalities like Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy and the Steelers bench boss Mike Tomlin, Dion said the Sunday night tilt just “feels right.”

“Like so many old flames, it always feels right when they’re back together, don’t you think? Like tonight, evoking the kind of magic they once produced. The Cowboys and the Steelers, a timeless classic on Sunday night,” she said.

The promo ended with the six-time Grammy winner getting doused in Gatorade and fist-pumping the air.

On X, where the video has been viewed more than 841,000 times, fans cheered on Dion’s spirited recreation of a timeless NFL tradition.

I didn’t know I needed to see a Celine Dion Gatorade bath, but I’m glad I did,” one person wrote, with another calling the promo, “INCREDIBLE.”

Dion’s video for the NFL follows her performance at the opening for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, in which she sang Édith Piaf’s Hymne A L’Amour from the Eiffel Tower.

She continued, “All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you! You should all be so proud. We know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused. Keep going. My heart is with you!”
