ST-ANDRÉ-AVELLIN — A man in his 30s is in critical condition after leaving the road in St-André-Avellin, in Outaouais, on Saturday evening, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) says.

Around 8 p.m., MRC Papineau police officers were called to go to Route 321 regarding the incident.

“The driver lost control of his vehicle for a reason that remains unknown,” said Camille Savoie, a spokesperson for the SQ.

No other vehicles were involved.

The man was taken to hospital, where authorities fear for his life.

A 19-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also taken to hospital, but her life is not in danger.
