Can Canadiens goalies handle a full 82-game season? | HI/O Bonus

Former Habs Chris Nilan and Rick Green, who played with Patrick Roy, give their thoughts on Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau.

There are several question marks for the Canadiens heading into the new season.

One of them is their goaltending situation with Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau following a three-goalie rotation for most of last season that included Jake Allen before he was dealt to the New Jersey Devils at the NHL trade deadline.

Montembeault has never played more than 41 games in an NHL season and Primeau hasn’t played more than 23.

Will they be able to handle a full 82-game NHL schedule together and play well enough for the Canadiens to win enough games to make the playoffs?

That’s the question former Canadiens’ Chris Nilan and Rick Green answer on this Hockey Inside/Out Show Bonus episode, along with Gazette sports columnist Stu Cowan.

Nilan and Green both played in front of Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy when the Canadiens won the Stanley Cup in 1986 and they also talk about why Roy had so much success in Montreal.
