Pete Alonso’s wife, Haley, has ‘chills’ celebrating slugger’s epic Mets homer

Haley Alonso was taking it all in after her husband became a Mets legend.

Pete Alonso’s three-run, ninth-inning home run against the Brewers carried the Mets to a 4-2 victory in Game 3 of their Wild Card series and saved a season that was two outs from being over.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Haley reposted a video of Alonso’s homer which came with the Mets trailing, 2-0.

“INSANE!!!!!!” she wrote.

Haley added, “CHILLS” in a separate slide, which replayed the home run with Mets radio voice Howie Rose on the call, who yelled, “He did it! Pete Alonso with the most memorable home run of his career!”

She also shared a photo of Alonso and Mets manager Carlos Mendoza celebrating together after the win.

“Mendy & Pete,” she wrote, adding a pair of teary-eyed emojis.

Alonso’s momentous blast at American Family Field was unlikely for so many reasons.

It came against Milwaukee’s closer Devin Williams, who is among the best in the game and while Alonso was mired in a slump.

The slugger had not had an extra-base hit in two weeks.

Just one inning earlier, he had dropped a foul pop-up that luckily did not extend the Mets’ deficit further than two runs.

“I wanted to be in that spot,” Alonso said afterward. “I wanted to deliver for my team. I want to contribute in a positive way.”

Haley had her own role in the team’s success as Pete showed off the Mets’ playoff pumpkin, which the first baseman said he had picked out with his wife.

The home run and the victory extends Alonso’s career with the Mets at least a few more games as the team now takes on the rival Phillies in the NLDS starting Saturday in Philadelphia.

Alonso, 29, is entering free agency and he just gave himself a hell of a bargaining chip no matter how the rest of the postseason unfolds.

Mets owner Steve Cohen was elated while in the locker room, where players danced under champagne showers.

“It’s just a storybook script. A Hollywood writer couldn’t write it any better,” he said.
