Calgary police search for suspect in armed cannabis, liquor store robberies

Calgary police have released photos of a man believed to be responsible for several liquor and cannabis store robberies in various city communities.

The seven robberies in question occurred between July 30 and Sept. 24, with six cannabis stores and one liquor store being targeted. Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for all.

Officers believe the suspect entered the businesses and inquired about products before fleeing with stolen goods.

“The suspect also threatened the store employees with a gun, demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money and stolen merchandise,” police said in a news release.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 25 years old, between 5’9” and 5’11” tall with a medium build.

He is believed to have worn various distinctive clothing items during the robberies, including, but not limited to, a black cowboy hat with silver detail on the band, black mirrored sunglasses, a black jacket with neon-yellow and white reflective material that mimics a safety vest, a red and black toque and neon-yellow gloves. He carried a black backpack during several of the robberies.
