One thing the Kelce brothers will likely never share is a closet.
On Wednesday’s episode of Jason and Travis’ podcast, “New Heights,” the duo discussed the former Philadelphia Eagles center’s latest “Monday Night Countdown” outfit — this time focusing on his footwear.
Jason, 36, said he has “more fun” at the stadium — as evidenced by his appearance in Philly, where he went viral for his velour tracksuit and dance moves — but this time, he suited up for the studio (and not in a shrunken shirt).
“ESPN didn’t wanna see you go f—king apes—t in Buffalo, did they?” Travis joked.
“The biggest takeaway … was definitely your dad sneakers,” he added, referring to fans tweeting about the New Balance shoes Jason wore to host the Sept. 23 “Monday Night Countdown” on ESPN.
“Nice kicks man, the ol’ dad Balances. The Ed Kelces. You could fix the second floor bathroom in those things, you could spread some mulch in those things, you could ask your kids to cut the grass in those things,” the Kansas City Chiefs player mused, referencing the duo’s father.
“You can do anything you want!” Jason declared.
“Did any part of you consider wearing flip-flops? Is that frowned upon in the ESPN studio?” Travis asked, making reference to his brother’s signature sandals.
“ESPN is kinda giving me a lot of leeway,” Jason confirmed. “They’re pretty much saying, ‘You can wear whatever you want, Jason.’”
The conversation then turned to Travis’ own game-day outfit — a black double-breasted Lemaire suit and cropped pants, which he wore with a white button-up shirt and tie.
Travis swapped out his Fear of God mules for red Jordan 3 Retro Legends of the Summer sneakers when he made his entrance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta ahead of the Falcons game, sparking the question, “What costs more? I think we know the answer to this.”
Travis’ bright sneaks are in fact “rare,” as he pointed out, as they were part of a collaboration between Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z during their 2013 tour of the same name. One pair of the sought-after kicks recently sold at auction for between $15,000 and $18,000.
“I like different textures; that’s why I like these shoes,” Travis said. “And I know Justin Timberlake, that’s my dawg.”
As for his cropped trousers, Travis declared “floodin’” as “in.”
“However you wanna rock your s—t, dude,” he told Jason in reference to fashion trends. “I really don’t care what’s in, what’s not in. I just go out there and I have fun wearing some s—t that I think looks cool. I wanted to flood because I thought I had some cool shoes on.”
The tight end added of his notably dejected appearance at the Chiefs vs. Falcons, which his team won, “Man, I wish I played as good as I felt.”
