Opposition tees off on CAQ over $6.5M grant to Presidents Cup golf tourney

Quebec Liberal MNA Marwah Rizqy says it is unacceptable to finance a PGA event while “we have trouble replacing a toilet at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal.”

Opposition parties in the National Assembly took turns on Wednesday skewering the Coalition Avenir Québec government in the wake of a news report that the province awarded a $6.5-million grant to the Presidents Cup golf tournament being held in Montreal this week.

Meanwhile, the Parti Québécois asked to see government studies justifying public monies being used to partially finance the tournament.
