Legendary Heart vocalist lists Florida home for $2M just 2 months after announcing cancer diagnosis

This northern Florida home in Palatka has heart — and it just hit the market for $2 million.

The seller is Ann Wilson, the lead vocalist and songwriter for the legendary rock band Heart.

The dwelling’s listing comes two months after Wilson, 74, announced that she has cancer. In a statement on Instagram at the time, she cancelled the remainder of her 2024 tour and wrote, “This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.”

In July, she explained in her post: “I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous. The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it. And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”

But this week, Heart announced the tour will continue — opening in Las Vegas in March and they will perform in New York next April.

The 12.5-acre “old Florida” estate sits along scenic St. Johns River, and comes with 510 feet on the water and its own dock.

The property is located on West River Road near St. Augustine. Wilson bought the compound for $885,000 in 2019. At the time, she was looking for inspiration to write new songs, a friend told Gimme Shelter.

Wilson co-founded Heart with her sister Nancy Wilson. Together, they created hits like “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man,” and “Barracuda” — and have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. Last year, the sisters received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013. The year before, Ann Wilson’s tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center in 2012, where she made Robert Plant and Jimmy Page tear up, went viral.

The property features a 4,084-square-foot main house with three bedrooms, 2½ bathrooms, multiple balconies, large porches and stunning river views.

There’s also a 2,406-square-foot guest house, which boasts four bedrooms and two baths. Built in the early 1900s, it has been renovated and includes modern amenities like an elevator.

The main house features a primary bedroom suite with a woodburning fireplace, along with an eat-in kitchen with a second woodburning fireplace — and a library with floor-to-ceiling built-in bookcases. Details include an attached home office nook off the library and a solid wood staircase.

There’s also an infinity pool overlooking the water, a spa and a poolside lanai. Details include two backup generators, an artisan well, an irrigation system and two pump houses. There’s also a 1,159-square-foot workshop.

The idyllic grounds feature century-old oak and magnolia trees and there’s plenty of room for expansion, notes the listing from Douglas Elliman’s Jennifer Martin Faulker and Kim Martin-Fisher.
