Police investigate discovery of body in St-Gabriel-de-Brandon

The death is considered suspicious and “an individual is currently being detained and will be met by investigators in the next few hours,” police said.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating following the discovery of a body early Sunday inside a residence in St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, in Quebec’s Lanaudière region.

Emergency services were called at about 6 a.m. to a residence on Alfred St. in the municipality of 2,700.

Few details were available Sunday, but it is known the body found was that of a man and that another man was arrested in the same place.

The death is considered suspicious, said SQ spokesperson Sgt. Frédéric Deshaies, and the investigation is being conducted by the SQ’s crimes against the person division.

“An individual is currently being detained and will be met by investigators in the next few hows,” he said.
