Officers will visit bars in Montreal, Quebec City, Outaouais, Longueuil, Laval, the Mauricie region, Saguenay, Lévis, Granby and other municipalities on Montreal’s North and South Shores.
More than 120 officers from 25 Quebec police forces will engage in a province-wide operation Friday evening aimed at cracking down on gun violence.
The officers have been assigned to visit bars in Montreal, Quebec City, Outaouais, Longueuil, Laval, the Mauricie region, Saguenay, Lévis, Granby and other municipalities on Montreal’s North and South Shores in order to “reiterate a clear message to members of organized crime and anyone ready to commit acts of violence that police forces will continue their actions against armed violence.”
The visits to bars will coincide with several road checkpoints being set up in the targeted areas.
