How to watch Mets vs. Phillies series: TV, streaming guide for this weekend

The Mets have already notched one win against the Phillies during this homestand, but the next three are huge if they want to continue playing ball into October.

They’re entering tonight’s game off of three consecutive 10-run performances, one of which did come against Philadelphia last night with four big home runs among the 10 total. And all of this is without star shortstop Francisco Lindor, who has been out with a back issue and won’t return for Friday night’s game.

Going into Friday night’s game, the Mets are tied with Arizona for the NL’s second wild card with a two-game lead on Atlanta, who the Mets will face for the penultimate series of the season on Tuesday.

The final homestand of the season (and possibly Pete Alonso’s last in a Mets uniform) is airing across three different networks, making tuning in a bit of a challenge — luckily, we made it easy for you to figure out exactly when, where, and how to watch all three games of the Mets series against the Phillies.

Mets vs. Phillies dates and times: When do the Mets play the Phillies?

There are three games left in the Mets’ final series of the season against the Phillies.

  • Friday, September 20 – 7:10 p.m. ET (Apple TV+)
  • Saturday, September 21 – 4:10 p.m. ET (SNY)
  • Sunday, September 22 – 7:15 p.m. ET (ESPN)

What channel is the Mets game on?

As we noted above, this weekend’s Mets games are airing on three different networks.

Tonight, September 20, you can watch the Mets exclusively on Apple TV+ as part of the Friday Night Baseball season finale.

Saturday’s game will be on the Mets’ home network, SNY, and Sunday’s will air on ESPN as the Sunday Night Baseball season finale.

If you subscribe to traditional cable, you’ll likely be able to watch Saturday and Sunday’s games on your TV. If you don’t have cable, however, there are easy and free ways to tune into all three games without cable.

How to watch Mets vs. Phillies for free:

Apple TV+

You don’t have to use Apple devices to get Apple TV+. Anyone can subscribe and take advantage of its streaming offerings (with critically acclaimed shows like “Slow Horses” and “Shrinking”) and live sports on supported devices like smart TVs.

Apple TV+ comes with a seven-day free trial before $9.99/month payments begin.

SNY and ESPN

To watch SNY and ESPN, you’ll need a live TV streaming service. Our favorite, because it includes regional sports networks (like SNY), is DIRECTV Stream.

You’ll have to subscribe to the CHOICE plan, which comes with a five-day free trial. After the trial ends, DIRECTV Stream Choice plan costs $88.99/month.

Sunday Night Baseball will not air on the ESPN+ streaming service; it’s just on the cable channel.

Probable Mets vs. Phillies starters this weekend:

  • Friday: David Peterson (NYM) vs. Cristopher Sanchez (PHI)
