Braelon Allen shades NFL draft process after fourth round slide

Braelon Allen has been a bright spot for the Jets through three weeks, which has given him the opportunity to take a jab at the NFL draft process.

Through three games, he has 19 carries for 96 yards — more than five yards per carry — with two touchdowns.

It seems like he bowls over defenders every time he gets the ball.

After Allen looked impressive again as the Jets defeated the Patriots on Thursday night, an X user asked earnestly, “How tf did @BraelonAllen drop to the fourth round?”

Allen, who starred at Wisconsin, responded, “Everyone wanted to see me run in my underwear to decide if I was a good football player.”

Allen skipped the athletic portion of the scouting combine, opting out of the 40-yard dash, three-cone drills and shuttle.

He was on the lower end of the rankings in the vertical leap and broad jump, and also dropped passed during simulated rushes.

Despite racking up 3,494 yards on 597 rushes over three seasons with the Badgers — accounting for 35 scores on the ground — the forces conspired to see the 6-foot-1, 235-pounder fall to the 134th overall pick, a compensatory selection for Gang Green.

During Amazon’s telecast on Thursday, Al Michaels noted that Aaron Rodgers gushed about Allen in production meetings, saying the quarterback told him that the rookie running back has been showing extra enthusiasm about getting up to NFL speed.

Breece Hall, the star starting running back on the Jets, spoke to The Post earlier this week about how Allen has been picking up the game at the pro level.

“[Allen] was shy and quiet at first. And then he realized how much I play around, how much of a goofball I am,” Hall said. “I feel like he’s been developing a little faster than I did in my rookie year. … He’s really smart, understands the offense from a whole standpoint now. It’s just been great to see him get some [opportunities]. In the ops he’s gotten, he’s been balling, so I’m proud of him for sure.”

Allen was happy to have Hall showing him the ropes.

“You can’t ask for a better situation to come into with a guy like Breece,” Allen said. “The success that he had super early in his career was obviously something that I kind of want to follow in. So, you can’t ask for a much better person to have in your corner.”
