Aaron Rodgers is ready for more.
Shortly after engineering a dominant 24-3 victory over the rival Patriots on Thursday, the Jets QB celebrated his first win at MetLife Stadium on Instagram.
“W” he wrote in his Story, sharing a celebratory Jets post, adding a heart and “love you gesture” emoji along with a “ThisIs40” hashtag.
Rodgers finished the night — his first home game with the Jets since infamously tearing his Achilles in the 2023 home opener — with 281 yards on 27-of-35 passing with two touchdowns.
As if to allay any fears about his surgically repaired leg, he added three rushes for 18 total yards, delighting to crowd, which chanted his name throughout the “Thursday Night Football” spectacle.
“It was a really special night,” Rodgers told reporters. “All those chants are really meaningful.”
The game came with some throwback elements for the quarterback.
He connected with Allen Lazard, his longtime Packers receiver, three times for 48 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter — the wideout’s league-leading third score after reaching the end zone twice the season-opener in San Francisco.
“Going into the San Francisco game, I told him I wanted the first touchdown that he threw as a Jet. And after I got that, then his first touchdown here at JetLife Stadium,” Lazard said. “The way his season ended here last year and everything, it was a special moment for us. Just so happy for him. To be able to make it back here, being 40 years old, coming off an Achilles, playing three games in 10 days, I’m proud of everyone, especially him. And it was a special moment for us.”
Oh, and it was the first on Rodgers’ MetLife ledger.
A year after an injury calamity, the 40-year-old QB is ready to bring a fresh chapter to Gang Green fans.
“We’re trying to change this whole attitude around here, we’re trying to build something special here, get these fans to believe in us,” Rodgers told Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung after the game. “They’ve been tortured for a long time. Last year was obviously a tough year, but it’s good to be back, it’s good to be healthy.
“Again, so many people that I’m thankful for that got me to this point, but it’s great to be a Jet, great to have nights like this.”
