Two women arrested after downtown Saskatoon armed robbery

Two women are charged after an armed robbery at a business on Second Avenue North on Thursday morning.

Around 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a weapons call at a business in the 300 block of Second Avenue North, police said in a news release.

When they arrived, a K9 team started tracking while other officers spoke with staff at the unnamed business.

“Video evidence was obtained which shows one of the suspects pull out and point what appeared to be a firearm,” the release said.

Officers found two female suspects a short distance away and arrested them without further incident. An investigation turned up a CO2 gun that is “believed to be the weapon used in the incident,” the release said.

A 24-year-old woman is charged with armed robbery and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.
