Titans’ Will Levis bombarded with texts after phone number leaks

Will Levis is trying to tune out the noise, but the noise found him anyway.

The Titans’ quarterback is off to an 0-2 start this season, and to add insult to injury, his phone number leaked out and he has apparently been receiving a barrage of negative text messages.

“The thing I’m actually doing today is getting a new phone number. I don’t know how my number got out there to the fans, but I got a lot of texts,” Levis told reporters on Wednesday.

“That’ll be nice, to shut that part behind me. And, I haven’t opened social [media] in the last couple weeks, so I just think that’s the way to go about it. You don’t want or care to see the things that people say about me. I’m just gonna keep chugging along regardless of what they say.

“But, yeah, it sucks that the world is the way it is and I’m looking forward to having some privacy.”

In losses to the Bears and Jets, Levis has thrown for just 5.3 yards per attempt so far this season, throwing two touchdowns and three interceptions.

He also lost a fumble in each game and was berated by Titans head coach Brian Callahan for fumbling in the red zone against the Jets on Sunday.

“I was upset,” Callahan told reporters after the game. “It was dumb. It was the same exact thing he did last week, and he cost us points in the red zone. And that is what it is. He’s a grown-up and he knows better, and I was really irritated that he cost us three points in a game that we probably needed it.”
