Laval police have released surveillance video of the suspect they are seeking.
Laval police have turned to the public in an effort to track down a suspect connected with a jewelry-store theft in August.
The incident occurred Aug. 12 in the city’s Chomedey district. A person walked into the store and asked to see a gold chain, according to police. When the clerk pulled out a display panel of gold chains, police say the suspect grabbed it and fled on foot. The panel consisted of 20 gold chains worth $800 to $1,000 each.
The suspect is described as a white male who speaks French, stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds. He had closed-cropped hair and is partially balding. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a blue checked, long-sleeved shirt, jeans and black and white running shoes.
