Dan Campbell selling $4.5 million home after Lions fans discover where he lives

Dan Campbell is on the move.

The head coach of the Lions has listed the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom Bloomfield Hills, Mich., home he shares with his family for $4.5 million due to security concerns, Crain’s Detroit reported Wednesday.

“There’s plenty of space, it’s on two acres, the home is beautiful. It’s just that people figured out where we lived when we lost,” said Campbell, whose Lions reached the NFC Championship last season.

The property was listed earlier in the week and was designated as “pending” within those 24 hours, according to Crain’s.

Although the prospective buyers have not been ID’ed, realtor Ashley Crain revealed they are “huge” fans of the Detroit franchise.

Originally constructed in 2013 by Hockey Hall of Famer Igor Larionov – a three-time Stanley Cup winner with the Red Wings – the 7,800-square-foot abode boasts “an awe-inspiring 2-story foyer that sets the tone for the home’s opulent interiors,” per the listing.

Named coach of the Lions in 2021, Campbell’s first year at the helm was a rollercoaster, with the team posting a record of 3-13-1. The Lions got their first win in Week 13 of the season.

Detroit only surged from there, wrapping up 2022 with a regular-season record of 9-8 as the franchise continued its transformation into a powerhouse.

The Lions finished last season atop the NFC North at 12-5, earning its first division title in 30 years.

Detroit’s dreams of a Super Bowl berth fell short in January’s NFC Championship heartbreaker to the 49ers.

Campbell was criticized for questionable calls in the 34-31 loss, notably the decision to bypass two field goal opportunities.

The Lions have since put that game in the rearview mirror, opening the 2024 season with an overtime 26-20 win against the Rams and former Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford.

They dropped a Week 2 matchup against the Buccaneers, 20-16, after topping Tampa Bay in January en route to the NFC title game.

The Lions (1-1) visit the Cardinals (1-1) on Sunday.
