Harvey Weinstein was spotted for the first time since undergoing heart surgery — in exclusive photos that captured him leaving a Manhattan hospital Wednesday ahead of his arraignment on new sex-offense charges.
The disgraced movie mogul was led out of Bellevue Hospital by officers, handcuffed and shackled to a wheelchair and clutching books in his hands — one of which was bandaged with gauze.
One of the books was “The Women” by Kristin Hannah — a 2024 work about a woman who follows her brother into the Vietnam War by joining the Army Nurse Corps.
The other book Weinstein held was the 2012 book titled “Live by Night” by Dennis Lehane, about the son of a Boston police captain who rises through the ranks of the mob, selling illegal alcohol during the Prohibition era.
Earlier this month, Weinstein, 72, was rushed to the hospital from Rikers Island, where he was being held until his retrial for sex crimes. He has been in the hospital recovering since.
Weinstein was hit with new charges for previously uncharged crimes while he was awaiting retrial in the historic #MeToo case after New York’s high court overturned his 2020 conviction.
He’s slated to face trial on Nov. 12 and prosecutors have said they plan to combine the new charges into the pending case.
