United Way fall fundraising campaign kicks off at Stampede Park

United Way of Calgary and Area hosted a Campaign Kickoff Tuesday morning, launching the organization’s fall fundraising campaign.

The kickoff serves as the official starting line and a call to action for the community to give through United Way.

Organizers were at Stampede Park Tuesday morning with food, music and games to bring awareness to recent and future fundraising efforts. Also in attendance were community leaders and donors.

Tuesday’s kickoff follows a 10-day basic needs round up put on by United Way alongside WINS (Women in Need Society), NextDoor, connectFirst Credit Union and other community partners. The city-wide initiative was launched to provide resources to those struggling to afford basic needs, such as hygiene products, warm clothing, baby items and more.

“United, we can help Calgarians meet their immediate needs and create long-term change,” reads the organization’s website.

“Hope is in your hands.”
